Summer News

Well it has been quite a busy summer around here! had the roof redone so no chances of flooding in the house: )
Izzy gave us a scare for a few weeks, she ate something that made her feel really really bad!
But now she is back to her "hoover" mode....trying to eat everything in sight! We really need to keep our eyes on her.
Lucy has been having a wonderful time terrorizing the pups next door every time they come out. She is not a fan of other dogs....we expected that from Izzy since she is a bull mastiff and it is in their character to not like other dogs but Lucy???? With Lucy in the house we know when there is a dog in the vicinity!
Sophia has been enjoying the warm summer days by sunbathing on the table outside.....she loves her warm sunny days!
Bailey is still in the midst of healing from her excessive plucking, every now and then he will pluck but then I try to distract him with goodies or some cuddle time.
I made a tree perch for the birds outside in the backyard, hoping they can enjoy the great outdoors with us. Bailey loves it but I am thinking I should clip his wings......just in case.
Kiwi is still my lil sweetie although she gets angry with me for not spending more time with her. I really should make it a point to handle her and the others everyday....well except for Harley since he hates women.
Well I have been working on getting re-organized in the house so haven't had much time to write, but I am planning on setting aside a day every week to add pics and news to my blogs so hopefully I can keep everyone up to date!
I basically started blogging so that my family and friends who live far away from us could be in the "know" of our lives. So keeping this blog updated is important to me.

Some summer fun

It has been a rather lazy start to summer, doesn't help when the household has gotten sick. I did manage to take a few shots on a very nice sunny day! Enjoy.

First Spring Time Stroll

Our first duck sighting! Hmmmm I wonder of we will be getting our duck this year? We have a duck who lives on our front lawn and every spring she shows up with her hubby duck!
These geese were honking away at the geese that is way out in the background of this picture, they were funny just a honnking back and forth!

Lucy as you can see is the adventuresome pup! she was about 6 feet over the river and about 6 feet out on the tree!

bath time

So yesterday Izzie got a bath, she hates her baths and will try her best to become one with the bathtub wall! But now she smells good, should last for a day or two!
she has been sleeping outside of her kennel now. She is doing great, no missing shoes, books or table legs......: )
Sophie is hating this weather big time! Oh boy does she hate going outside! her bath day is tomorrow so I am sure she will give me the cold shoulder when we are done! She is still having issues with eating in front of the other dogs, she will literally not eat if they are around soooooo we have to eat in shifts. Of course Izzie still thinks the other dogs are getting food that is better than hers so she will try to scope out their dishes before eating out of hers. I have to remind her constantly where her dish is at!
One of Izzie's bad habits at the moment is chasing bailey around! Boy does that bird hate it when Izzie gets that "look".
Bailey is my goffin cockatoo, she is a love magnet! She loves to hang out outside of her cage and Izzie takes advantage of that at times.

Way too cold out there!

Boy is it cold out there! so cold that Sophie hates to go out and no one can blame her!
The yard is more of a ice skating area since the huge snow fell, melted and then froze. dogs dashing out in the morning tend to slide in surprise! after a few days of that footsteps are made much more slower and more carefully.
Izzie is getting huge! she is only 7 months old yet she is the size of a large lab already! Boy talk about an appetite too!!!!!! 8 cups a day!

So we had some fun decorating the Christmas tree! Mom was ignoring me sooooooo I got her attention by walking thru the strand of lights she was using to hang on the tree!
